About Me

Triathlon Changed My Life

I was always someone who thought I was healthy, I convinced myself that I was not overweight. It was not until late 2008 a year after my fathers death from Cancer that I hit my heaviest. I was not an unhappy person at all. But the death of my father clearly had deep rooted itself into my psyche and it needed to change. It was then that I started to run. I signed up for the Everyman Keep your eye on the ball 5k fundraiser run with two friends.

I wasn't bitten by the Endurance sports bug right away. After the 5k I then entered the Run to the Beat 1/2 marathon for Macmillan Cancer. The training for this was when I realised that I had a inner passion for endurance, race day came and running round SE London with DJs playing tunes and crowds screaming you on and I was now a runner.

I then took the step that I have never looked back from into Muti Sport entering The Blenheim Sprint Triathlon with two friends. That day I raced the same course as Jenson Button and other celebrities and although I was no way near as fast i was completely hooked on Triathlon.

Years later and I have run several Marathons, multiple obstacle course races, tough mudders and spartan races along the way, I've completed too many triathlons to count from Super Sprint right up to Ironman and I now consider myself an Endurance Athlete.

The hardest part of it all was admitting accepting that I was on the wrong trail that I needed to change my life, making the changes I needed to ensure that I became happier, healthier and most importantly the positive person I always portrayed on the outside.

I am here to inspire others to get into endurance sports. It was friends who got me into my first 5k, friends who I entered my first Triathlon with and now Friends who push me and motivate me in achieving my best every race.

FURTHER | FASTER | LONGER

My motto is simple yet holds hidden meaning to me. I got into Endurance sports to become healthy but have fallen in love with every aspect of it. I want to push myself FURTHER and inspire others to do the same. That can be going from couch to 5k, from Runner to Triathlete or from sprint Tri to Ironman. The key is to push the limits of your own ability and understand what you are truly capable of. Regardless of your journey to this point we always want to get FASTER, improvement = FASTER and by working together, challenging each other we can get FASTER than our previous self. Italk about going LONGER for two reasons, this is endurance sport it should probably last more time than a slice of chocolate cake on a group ride but as well as going LONGER a love of Endurance and the associated health benefits are bound to have positive effects on your life resulting in it being LONGER and I hope happier too.
